Gadget Mission for 2014: Fujifilm X10

I need to save a lot of money this year! I want to buy this "mirrorless" digital camera from Fujilm by December! What I love about this "mirrorless" digital camera is the portability of this camera; I can bring this kind of camera anywhere and can still take good photos without compromising quality. This camera (hopefully I can buy one this December) will serve as my alternative to my Canon DSLR camera. And what I love even more with this Fujifilm X10 camera is that the aperture is insanely amazing! It has an aperture of 2.0 and 2.8 and in addition, the price is student friendly! I need and want this camera in my life!

Kyle Thompson is an American photographer who takes great photos and self-portraits. I saw his photos when a friend of mine over facebook shared a link to his website where he showcases his beautiful shots. As I did my little research about him, he uses a Canon 60D camera however I forgot what lens he is using in taking these shots. I wish I could take photos like him; but I know it takes millions of practice before I can take shots like these. His shots resemble that of top blogger and photographer Tricia Gosingtian too!

I just purchased a new Canon 50mm lens last Christmas and I'm planning to buy another lens. Personally, I really want that EF24-70mm F/2.8L USM Canon Lens but it is just too expensive for me who is a struggling blogger and still a student on my second degree (Law). Maybe I'll just settle for a Canon EF 28mm-135mm F/3.5-5.6 USM IS lens. I'm considering also an upgrade of my camera body too, ah at first it was Canon 7D but when I found out it is using a compact flash for its storage of photos and the model is quite old I got discouraged and changed my mind and considering Canon 70D instead but then again Canon 60D is much cheaper and they almost have the same features with Canon 60D and this awesome photographer named Kyle Thompson uses Canon 60D, I might consider Canon 60D over Canon 70D soon. 

Sprockets Cafe

After attending the Holy Mass at the University of San Carlos' university chapel, me and my beautiful college best friend, Kristhy, went straight to the Sprockets Cafe, USC-TC branch and tried some of their hot and cold drinks. Kristhy picked Honeydew Milk Tea. I also picked Hot Choco Supreme. What I love about this cafe is that not only that their cakes and hot and cold drinks are delicious, the prices are also costumer-friendly; which is perfect for a student like me. I also love the ambiance and the interiors of the cafe plus the staff were also very friendly. I'm planning to return to that cafe soon and try their other drinks and milk teas!

I usually attend the Holy Mass every Sunday afternoon at our university chapel; so on my way there I took some photos of my beloved university. Will post soon more photos of my school. :) 

Postcards from the Sky

A 7.2 Magnitude earthquake struck my hometown, the province of Bohol (Philippines) last Tuesday. Despite of being thankful that my family is safe and our town is not adversely affected by the earthquake at Bohol, my heart broke when I saw the news that almost 200 people died and our very old churches (3 to 4 centuries old), roads, municipal halls and houses were also destroyed because of the earthquake. I hope we, the Boholanos can surpass this test that God gave. I know that Bohol shall rise again from the rubble. 

Bangon Bohol! Rise Bohol! 

I am very thankful to those kind-hearted people who sent relief goods and gave assistance to my fellow Boholanos. 

PS: I took these photos during my flight to Manila last Saturday morning. Didn't you notice those cracks at the lower part of the photos? I think there is something wrong with my lens. :(
